Accommodation

There are 2 conference hotels for accommodation.

One is at the same location as the meeting rooms at Monte Verita, and one is about a 4-minute drive uphill to Casa Berno.

Note that at Monte Verita, there are limited single occupancy rooms and they are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The accommodation rate is heavily discounted.

We encourage guests to stay there, especially those of you who have been coming year after year and can identify someone you could room with. We would appreciate you doing this as it will allow us to have more participants stay at Monte Verita and it will be a great network opportunity for you. The prices are reduced, of course, to accommodate your sharing. You will select your room option whether single or shared and you will also select which type of room. 

Rooms at Monte Verita are ~137 Swiss francs for a single room, and ~77 Swiss francs for a shared room.  Air conditioning is only available in a few rooms and cannot be guaranteed at Monte Verita.

All rooms have air conditioning at Casa Berno, but the price is higher.

Room types are limited so you will have to pick from available options at the time you book so early booking is recommended.

Monte Verità

Participants get to state who they wish to room with if sharing on the Hotel Booking Platform. Or if you are getting a shared room, but don't have anyone in mind to share with,  that's fine too. 

Please note that we also have a limited number of hotel rooms reserved at Casa Berno nearby. We recommend that if you choose to stay there, you have a rental car or at least be prepared for a longer walk, and some of it may be uphill. A link will be provided for this shortly  

Most people will stay in the accommodation at the Conference center. After you pay for your registration, you will get a link to the hotel  

We recommend that you book this immediately as there are limited rooms available.  In order to allow the number of participants and increase the ability to network, we ask you to consider a shared room. If you know somebody who is going, please reach out to them so you can name each other as sharing a room. If you have not reached out to anyone, you can leave it blank, and we will try to match. 

To get a shared room and again we are asking people to please do this so we can allow all our participants to come. Please select

“half twin rooms shared with another participant”. Each shared person needs to pay using a credit card individually and you will have a receipt. 

The majority of rooms have been negotiated at 77 CHF per person for a shared room, and 137 CHF for a single occupancy room. You will see the exact price when you book but expect this for Monte Verita. 

Note: There are limited single-occupancy rooms, and they are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Again, there is a limited number of private rooms and rooms with private bathrooms, so if that is what you want, you should book early or consider Casa Berno.

At Monte Verità, a Baby cot is free. You MUST let Yijie (yijiezhu@fau.edu) know your need at least 2 weeks in advance, preferably at the time of hotel booking

Children 4-9 years are charged 20 CHF/night for accommodation 

Children 10+ are charged 50 CHF/night for accommodation

There will be a charge for registration for children as this covers the meals. Please contact Jennifer Collins for more information and provide ages of children. PLUS child’s registration fee for food (please contact Jennifer Collins)

Casa Berno

To book at Casa Berno, please contact info@casaberno.ch and mention the reference to “HURICAN 2027” and indicate your preferred room category. They will sort out the payment with you directly.

All rooms with view over the lake, balcony, radio, television, telephone, mini fridge, safe, hairdryer and bathrobe. 

The rate includes: The breakfast buffet, TICINO Card, free internet access (WiFi), VAT, parking and the use of our heated swimming pool, Sauna, Steam bath and Fitness. 

*Please note that the taxes of CHF 4.50 per person and night are excluded and have to be paid supplementary on spot. 

Rooms available on a first-come, first-served basis and the option is offered until 31 December 2026. 

After this date, the rooms will be made available for sale again. 

If you want to stay before or after the conference, you can ask them if they would be willing to honor the same rate.  That is not guaranteed but Manager Manuela said she would try her best.

Cancellation Terms 

•                     In the event of cancellation between 60 and 30 days prior to arrival, 50% of the total booking amount will be charged. 

•                     In the event of cancellation between 29 and 15 days prior to arrival, 75% of the total booking amount will be charged. 

•                     In the event of cancellation within 14 days of arrival, 100% of the total booking amount will be charged.

Extra Room
- Please email Jennifer Collins collinsjm@usf.edu if you book a separate room for a family member with their name so we can make note that they are associated with you.

Optional Additional Nights and Nights for Family

Participants interested in pre- and/or post-nights at Monte Verita shall send a request to: info@monteverita.org, mentioning that they are attending the CSF conference, Prof. Bresch. You will be responsible for paying and organizing this on your own with them. Rates will be different than the conference rates given
